Greater Boston Stage Company seeks a Technical Intern. Responsibilities include assisting the Technical Director with:
All aspects of scenery construction and installation. Duties may include carpentry, metalworking, painting, as well as transporting, loading in and striking scenery, and helping to keep the scene shop clean and organized. Previous coursework in theatre is not required, but interns should have a strong interest in the technical aspects of theatre and have some experience using hand and power tools. Scene shop interns will be expected to work both independently and in partnership with scene shop staff. As scene shop work is physically demanding, applicants should be able to lift 50 pounds from a standing position.
ABOUT INTERNSHIPS AT GREATER BOSTON STAGE COMPANY
Fall, Spring or full Academic Year Internships are available from 8-20 hours per week. Summer internships are available for 8-40 hours per week. Ideal candidates are current undergraduate or graduate students with a strong interest in working in professional theatre who have reliable transportation to and from Stoneham. All Greater Boston Stage Company internships are unpaid.
