AUDITIONS: Sunday, September 17, 2017 - Monday, September 18, 2017
During auditions, students will be seen by the creative team which includes the Director, the Music Director, and the Stage Manager. There will be two days of auditions (students need only attend one day):
Each audition is comprised of one 10-minute private slot in which the student showcases both a 1-minute comedic monologue and a 32-bar cut of a song in the style of the show. Students may or may not be given adjustments on any section of their prepared material and asked to try certain sections again. Students should bring with them:
To register for a slot: Starting Tuesday, September 5, 2017 please call Education at (781) 279-7885 x104¸ Monday through Friday between 10:00am and 5:00pm. CALLBACKS: Thursday, September 21, 2017 There will be one day of callbacks: Wednesday September 20, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00pm. Callbacks are a time for creative teams to gather information they may not have gathered at auditions. If you do not receive a callback for the show, you may still receive a role. All who audition will be informed via email on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 whether or not they are being asked to attend callbacks. CASTING: Friday, September 22, 2017 In casting, we take several things into account: 1. Information we’ve gathered during auditions and callbacks. 2. The technical requirements of each role. 3. Rehearsal and performance conflicts.* 4. Attitude towards staff, fellow actors, and the space. At the end of the casting process, we cast students based on the artistic needs of the program and the student. Please note: Not every student who auditions will be cast. Also, roles will not be double-cast. *Conflicts: Please bring ALL conflicts to your audition day. As this is a shortened rehearsal process, a student’s conflicts will play a major role in their ability to be a part of the cast. Small conflicts may be honored, at the discretion of the creative team, but any additional conflicts presented after casting may result in dismissal from the show. REGISTRATION: Friday, September 23, 2017 Students who are cast will have until 5:00pm on Friday September 23, 2017 to accept their role. There is no tuition, but students will still have to register through the Box Office. |
