Assistant Stage Manager Program

Young Company’s

The Young Company’s Assistant Stage Manager program will provide hands-on experience working closely with our staff member stage manager and peer student actors, taking on responsibilities like resetting the stage, playing sound cues, and being on-book for actors during rehearsals. In addition, participants will engage in daily theatre workshops, exploring singing, dancing, and acting for a well-rounded, interdisciplinary adventure.

During tech week and performances, assistant stage managers (ASMs) will play a vital role backstage as part of the run crew, ensuring the production runs smoothly. We hope each ASM will deepen their understanding of theatre while fostering their passion for the craft.

Summer Festival will run from July 7 to August 10. This 5-week program includes: A 4 week rehearsal period (Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 2:30 PM) and 1 week dedicated to technical and dress rehearsals, and performances. Schedules for Week 5 vary by cast.

An interview is required for acceptance into this program. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us at 781-587-7904 or education@greaterbostonstage.org.
TUITION
The Young Company offers a tiered pricing structure for our Summer Festival program. This model allows families to choose tuition that best fits their family’s current financial circumstances. True Price represents the actual cost of our program while Base Price is made possible by the philanthropic support of our community who selects Donation Price.
We invite you to choose the tier that reflects your current personal financial circumstances. The tier you select will remain confidential and will not impact your student’s experience.

Base Price: $995
True Price: $1075
Donation Price: $1145

Should none of these tiers fit your current financial circumstance, payment plans are available through an easy application process. Please don’t let the ability to pay be a barrier to participation!
