The Young Company offers half-hour private voice lessons with professional and engaging coaches. Throughout these lessons, students explore vocal technique, musicianship, song repertoire, and audition skills. Lesson curriculum and song selection are developed between student and instructor and tailored to the students’ specific goals. These lessons are a great fit for beginner singers as well as experienced vocalists looking to expand their skill set and experience. We welcome students in grades 1-12 as well as adults. All lessons are offered in-person at Greater Boston Stage Company.
This spring, we are offering a 6-week session April 22nd through May 27th. Cost of registration is $265.

MEET THE INSTRUCTORS
CARRIE TULLY
In-Person Thursdays 3pm-7pm
1st GRADE – 6th GRADE
Carrie (she/her) is a Boston-based actor, singer, music director, and teacher. She is a recent graduate of Emerson College where she received her BFA in Musical Theatre and studied education under the direction of Bethany Nelson. Carrie is an alumnus of The Young Company, having first joined in 2017. Learning with The Young Company was highly influential to Carrie’s skills and ethos as a performer and as a teacher. In addition to her extensive training in vocal technique and acting through song, she is an experienced pianist and arranger, having trained with renowned musicians in the Boston area for more than 15 years.
SOREN AUSTENFELD
In-Person Wednesdays 3pm-7pm
7th GRADE – ADULT
Soren (he/him and they/them) is active as a music director, ensemble and solo performer, and voice educator throughout the Boston area, and he has presented on vocal pedagogy topics at organizations across the United States, including the National Association of Teachers of Singing. Soren brings a compassionate and creative presence to the voice studio, with broad and deep technical knowledge and a responsive approach centered on each student’s development as a whole artist. Soren holds an M.M. in Vocal Pedagogy from New England Conservatory, has taught private voice for over seven years, and coaches repertoire and technique across multiple genres, including contemporary commercial music, musical theatre, and classical. He speaks German and French and is working toward greater proficiency in Spanish and Italian. Outside the studio, Soren enjoys songwriting and hiking.
