How many children do you have and what are their age(s)? I have three children – a daughter who is 12 and in 6th grade and twin boys who are 10 and in 4th grade.
What do you love most about living in the North Shore area? I love the easy access to Boston, the many great arts and cultural opportunities on the North Shore and the green spaces such as the Fells, Ipswich Wildlife Sanctuary, Plum Island and Wingaersheek Beach.
How did your family first become involved in The Young Company? Our first experience with The Young Company was seeing a family friend perform in a Summer Festival production of the Little Mermaid when my daughter was in pre-k. The summer before 4th grade she was in the ACT 1 Summer Festival production of Freckleface Strawberry.
What productions have they been a part of over the years? Since then she has participated in both Winter and Summer Festivals and has been in the casts of Frozen Jr., the virtual production of The Phantom Tollbooth, and last summer her brothers joined her in A Wrinkle in Time, and again this winter in The Many Disguises of Robin Hood.
Who do you feel would be a good fit for the program? The Young Company is incredibly inclusive and honestly it would be a good fit for any child interested in being on stage! The education department does an excellent job of making their program accessible for all types of learners. It is also great for students who have a serious interest in theater. There are wonderful opportunities to learn and grow as an artist through the many program offerings.
What have your kids learned from being a part of theatre classes? They have gained confidence. They have met and made some of their best friends. They have learned how to collaborate and compromise. They have felt the joy of being a part of a cast and the strong relational bond that is created when actors come together to tell a story on stage. They are more accepting, kind, and inclusive of others because of their experience with The Young Company. And they have improved their memorization skills, developed language and literacy skills, improved their projection and articulation, learned about stage direction and theater etiquette, learned about dance, drumming, prop-making, and developed social and emotional skills.
For my daughter, who is quite serious about theater she has learned skills and techniques that have helped improve her acting, singing and dance. She has grown so much as an actor through The Young Company classes and productions.

Cons of Augmentin: Side Effects and Resistance Risks
Strategically located distribution hubs facilitated timely delivery to pharmacies, ensuring that Augmentin was readily available to patients across continents. Additionally, environmental factors such as the presence of antibiotic residues in water sources from improper disposal or agricultural runoff can further select for resistant strains of bacteria. For example, warfarin, a blood thinner, can have its effects intensified by Augmentin, necessitating close monitoring of blood clotting times to prevent bleeding complications. The effective dosage and duration of treatment with Augmentin depend on the severity and location of the infection being treated and should be determined by a medical professional. If a dose is missed, do not double the next dose to make up for it. However, when it comes to affordability, the cost can be higher compared to generic antibiotics. Thus, proper storage is not just about prolonging the drug’s life but ensuring the health and safety of those it's intended to benefit.
The Spark of Inspiration: Initial Discovery
Clavulanic acid serves as a beta-lactamase inhibitor, thwarting the defense systems of beta-lactamase producing bacteria, ensuring that amoxicillin remains effective. Amoxicillin is effective against a wide range of bacteria, while clavulanic acid helps to prevent the bacteria from developing resistance to the antibiotic. For oral administration, Augmentin tablets should be swallowed whole with a full glass of water. Additionally, allergies, nasal polyps, and structural abnormalities in the nose can also increase the risk of developing sinusitis. One major challenge is the development of antibiotic resistance to Augmentin itself. In addition, some individuals may experience skin issues while taking Augmentin, including rashes or hives. In this way, Augmentin has the ability to combat bacteria that have become resistant to other antibiotics and improve treatment success rates.
Dosage Guidance for Children

It's also important to avoid taking Augmentin with certain medications that can interact with it, such as probenecid, allopurinol, and warfarin. This common pediatric antibiotic, a combination of amoxicillin and clavulanate, is often employed to combat bacterial infections that are resistant to amoxicillin alone. However, there may also be instances where the side effects are more severe or persistent. The drug contains two active ingredients: amoxicillin, a penicillin-type antibiotic, and clavulanate potassium, a beta-lactamase inhibitor.
Effectiveness of Other Antibiotics
By working with your doctor, you can safely and effectively take Augmentin without any harmful side effects. It is vital to strictly follow the healthcare professional's instructions regarding the correct dosage and administration of Augmentin. With Augmentin, the road to quick relief from sinus infections becomes smoother and less troublesome. It is important to remember that Augmentin is a powerful antibiotic that kills bacteria, so taking it for non-bacterial infections will not only be ineffective, but it can also harm your body. These adaptations enable bacteria to produce enzymes like beta-lactamases that render the drug ineffective. However, if gastrointestinal upset occurs, taking it with a meal can help alleviate discomfort. This basically means that bacteria become resistant to antibiotics that were once effective, making it more difficult to treat infections.
